Karen's art is lovely as always, and draws the reader on through the pages. The art is pretty much everything you'd expect from Karen Lusted, it's clean, confident and has a bright, breezy feel that flows effortlessly. The characters are well-defined, and the book manages to tell a dynamic and suspenseful story without taking itself too seriously. While not being a groundbreaking work or with any deep philosophical message or surprising twists, Superjax is rather an example of a simple concept very well executed. The pacing and storytelling are clear, the art shows a good degree of technical skill and consistency and the humour is genuinely funny. Well worth a read.
