FINALLY finished the colouring of the mascot for the new anime convention in Denmark, Genki Con. I’m really not used to colouring like this anymore, tried to make this look very anime-ish =u= I think my usual colouring style wouldn’t fit this kind of lineart.

I haven’t touched digital for ages, I might start going back to it. Hopefully I can get the hang of it now.
And nay, it looks sweet. Did you fiddle around with colour balance to get the lineart that brown- red like colour?

The tool I used in PS to change the lineart wasn’t colour balance, it was.. Hue/Saturation or cmd+U (or ctrl+U).
Oh, an easy way to colour like this is using the lasso tool to select the the area you want to be darker and use the brush tool to only fill in some of the selected area. Oh, and remember to lower the opacity and flow of the brush, it gives a softer effect.
