After drawing Lucy on the Phone a few weeks a go, it has been on my mind to set up a ninja challenge like this. To manga-fy real life, or in this case, real life from TV! :)

I haven’t been watching much TV at all lately, save a couple catch-ups on Big Brother. So I slipped The L-Word on, as I was getting bored listening to music all day while working. Big mistake! It slowed down my work pace by 50%. However, I was reminded of the idea above, so not a total waste of time, eheheh. Anyway, one of characters (Jenny, above) has started to really captivate me. I used to despise her, as she’s really weird and whiney. But two seasons on, she is still the same. I’ve grown to like her. That was confirmed in the above scene, where she slowly accepts being hit on. She’s not a bad actress here. :)

I think my version of the shot is kinda off though. She looks more worried? Face is more angular? Lips aren’t as pouty? Blah. I’ll try again tomorrow.

looks good! Interesting challenge, certainly worthy of a true ninja. I know what you mean about getting bored of music. I’ve started listening to podcast short stories while I draw now. I recommend podcastle (fantasy stories) and psudeo pod horror/thrillers

One of my friends made me dislike doing that. He kept asking me to make it more and more realistic until it was practically realism and not al all manga….
