Hello, this is your admin and webmaster speaking.
I have asked poster Hecko X to not post or comment in our little corner of the web anymore, not because he’s a bad person or he did anything wrong, but because there was considerable friction between him and some of the other members, and in the end I felt it was the best way to prevent trouble.
I’m sorry to have to ask an enthusiastic and funny member to leave, but I understand that sometimes, people just don’t get along. As there are plenty of other places to post and discuss drawings I don’t I’m being unfair or unreasonable.
I’ve always hoped for the Daily Draw to be a place for mutual encouragement and support, and have tried to avoid drama and general awkwardness. I hope we can continue in this way together. Thank you for understanding.

Oh… wow, didn’t see that one coming. Well, I’m sad that I have to go, but if the other members feel uncomfortable with me commenting, I will of course stop (though if people just told me they didn’t want me to comment on their drawings, I would have respected that, so it’s still a bummer I have to quit because of it… I only commented to say if I liked a drawing or if I thought something was a bit odd so people could maybe improve, not to cause friction, so I apologize to everyone who felt that way). Anyway, this will be my last comment here, but thanks for letting me join at all, it was fun while it lasted~.

Oh , this is really surprising. I had no idea (I’m often quite oblivious), but I’m sure this decision was well thought through for the happiness of everyone.

I feel the drama is only encouraged by asking him to leave by a third party, but rather than deal with it with the users it chose to exclude. It feels like a bad choice to me, but I am not one to comment being new here myself. I respect the choice though and look forward to continuing to use the Daily Draw for my drawing encouragement.

If I said I’d agree I’d be lying but I’m just gonna skip the drama llama, I’ve got enough on my plate this week and I want to draw dammit.
I’ve always appreciated your comments on my work Hecko, please keep it up with others’ work even if it’s not on here – its hard to find people on the net who are so willing to comment and discuss work on such a regular basis ^^;
I too am really surprised by this news.
I must confess I am completely ignorant of the backstory here, this being first I’ve heard of anyone having issues with each other on the board. I’d like to say that I always found Hecko’s comments supportive and entertaining. I’m sure Willie thought the decision through thoroughly and fairly, But it seems a shame to loose such an active member.
Would it be possible to find out what particular comment caused offence? I don’t wish to cause more drama, but I feel it would be useful for the community to know what the the boundaries are. I fully understand that there are pieces on which people do not wish receive technical critique on. Or that an artist may become irritated with a repeated critique on stylistic choices (eg “yr men look like girls u shd not drawz guys this way” – this was one I used to get quite a bit). But are there also other things people would prefer not be critiqued or commented on?
