I just had an encounter with a huge beetle in my bathroom.. eeeuk ;__; I’ve trapped it under a cup, but I still feel slightly traumatised.

I feel a bit bad for being so disgusted by insects, but I can’t help it!

Why am I feeling sorry for them?? haha.

A lot of books when you’re little put across the message that playing outside is good and you should be fascinated by creepy crawlies etc, so even now I always feel a little bit like I should try to like them.

Or like in enid blyton – I always think back to mallory towers and how all the good characters are hearty and outdoorsy, while the dislikable characters are wimpy for being scared of insects and not liking sports: and I just think- I am too much like Gwendoline! D:

Haha it’s so silly, but reading those books as a child had a big impact on me xD I’ve noticed that I inadvertently refer back to stroylines in mallory towers on any moral (or whatever) issues I encounter xD .  I suppose its that enid blyton stories had such strong ideas of what is right and wrong.

The stories you consume when you’re growing up really shape who you are don’t they?  But I think I have too much of them in my head xD it’s a bit weird for other people when I randomly say ‘this is like in that story when…’

Um that was a bit of a random ramble (it’s late).

What were your favourite books as a child?

PS ~I’m going on a school trip to Paris and will be back on monday evening.  See you then with hopefully lots of sketches :)

The Magic Key. I remember the name Biff, because it was awesome.

And I sometimes hoover up insects because I don’t want to touch them, then feel guilty.

My favorite book as a kid was probably the Jeepers Creepers books, there were like 50 of them and they had intense horror stories! For a kid at least. AWESOME.

I think I remember them, but I’m not absolutely sure. I remember a long series that scared me a lot, anyway.
