I put together a progress pic of all of the different versions of my texture painting for the bookcase – all in all I think this is about a week’s worth of painting >.<;

I love looking back over my finished projects – you can almost see the cogs in my brain whirring as I try to work things out XD

I’m afraid its going to be more texture painting from me for a little while as I’m just starting my first painted character today ^^; But maybe at the weekend I’ll try to do some kind of little comic-y sketch for some variety ^_^

anyway actually to tell the truth i just wanted to post to brag about knowing mirai nagasu (olympics american fourth place figure skating) :”D she used to go to my school before she was homeschooled and she was really funny and quirky. it’s kind of surreal seeing her skate at the olympics…

EDIT – forgot to say! The top square is the size I painted it at and the lower square is the size that’s actually used on the model ^_^

OK so this might make up for yesterday’s cop-out post of non-current artwork.  I just finished this texture paint which has not only taken today to complete, I worked on this specific paint for the whole of yesterday plus an hour the previous night.  Apart from that, this bookcase has gone through an absolute ton of iterations as I’ve learned more and more about texture painting.  I would say all in all if you count all my failed attempts this paint has taken over a week’s worth of full-time hours to finish XD

Its still not that great tho – I can see lots of problems, and really I’m itching to re-start painting the top of the bookcase all over again, but sometimes you just need to stop on a project and move on (which I kind of needed to do a while ago on this one, I just couldn’t let it go until I’d improved it more ^^;; )

Not really new, but as I hinted at bits of it as I was working on it last year, I thought it would be good to put a link to the final version up at some point (drawing a ton last year that I never uploaded at that time can count for today’s drawing, right? >.<;;; )

Anyway, the whole thing is up over on my SmackJeeves page or on my DA if the fancy takes you to read it ^_^  Cats and robots unite!

Wow, that was my longest break ever from DD I think ^^;  ~says sorry to self~  But I have been working hard on arty stuff – just 3D rather than 2D ^^ (plus, I killed my shoulder muscles using the tablet for long hours in a crap position so I couldn’t really use it again until that healed up a bit ^^; )

Hopefully I’m back now tho!  I’m going to be doing a ton of hand-painted texturing for my 3D for the next week or so, so I’ll probably do some speed painting each morning to warm up ^_^

I can’t believe I’m only half way through the perspective series o.o;  50 images takes a very long time to complete! >.<;

I saw Scandi’s Hamlet cover and got rather inspired.
I bet Hamlet would love some mustard too.
Though personally, I haven’t eaten it for years.

still trying to cross over to semi-realism? right now i’m producing massive amounts of completely disgusting half anime half realistic stuff. hahahahahah. when i draw people from life it usually looks fine but when i do stuff from mind like this my brain just farts out this type of stuff.

i can do the separate parts of the face completely fine on their own but proportioning always gets to me… :”’D
