by Yui-chan on 8 October 2009

Sooo, autumn is coming, in my country weather like to make suprises When one day I was dying of cold, the other I didn’nt know what to do with 2 pullovers And as for the concert – they cancelled convention and I feel sad V.V Recently, I wonder how it happens [...]

Catgirl

by Willie on 28 May 2009

Catgirl

Never a shortage of cat girls at Expos.
Next to my table was a table full of cat ears and cute hats. The girls manning the table were very enthusiastic at getting people to try the ears on, it was pretty funny to watch sometimes.
I like this drawing, especially the mouse. In general, I’m really [...]

Cute Overload

by Willie on 23 May 2009

Cute Overload

I’m interested in the ‘decora’ fashion style. It appeals to me, but I’m not sure I can get away with wearing crazy stuff at my age. Uhh… So I will just draw people dressed in crazy stuff, for now.
I like the way she came out, I think she looks very lively. Thinking she should [...]

Cute and clean

Cute and clean

Finally feel like I might really be over my funk. These are some cute pictures I might use on my website. Tried out those pie-chart eyes in the top one. Heh, it’s cute!
I got some pink leads for my pencil, they’re sweet! Ironically, I can make the pink lines disappear by deleting the ‘green’ channel [...]

Babies are cute*

Babies are cute*

This was meant to be a chibi, but it got so baby-ish that I just went with it. Why a baby would have a cell-phone I don’t know, but nothing surprises me these days.
I drew this at the Bristol Small Press Expo. It was a cool event, I wrote stuff about it here: Bristol SP [...]

Tentacles

Tentacles

Miki Mollusk wants to be your friend.
I’m watching David Attenborough’s Life on Earth on DVD. Awesome stuff. Sea slugs that look like cakes, giant squid and killer invertebrates! Whee!
Oh, and I found this competition. The deadline is a bit tight, but if anyone’s feeling up to it: children’s book illustration competition.

Cool Bean

by Willie on 30 March 2009

Cool Bean

Man, con days are tiring! With the travelling in the morning, walking and talking to people all day, and being well knackered in the evening, I didn’t get any actual practice drawing in. Luckily, I drew this little idiot while actually at the con, so I can put today’s cross in with a clear conscience.
We [...]

Inks

by Willie on 26 March 2009

Inks

Ugh, I only inked the image I gave you yesterday. +_+; And they’re not very exciting inks, either.
I meant to do more drawing but spent the evening fiddling with my to-do list. No, really.  Sorry I’ve not been commenting much recently. Work is crazy busy, that’s why. XD I only comment when I should be [...]

Drench

by Willie on 25 March 2009

Drench

Another cute thing. I think I’ll turn these into a series, and then try to make some noise on the back of them. I should really sort out some kind of online portfolio with my drawings, I could do with people paying me to scribble.
So, this one is called Drench, and she wants to remind [...]

Mascots for Life

It’s the colour version of something I showed you before. I’m putting this up as a poster near my desk.

Elongated Pain*

Elongated Pain*

*Meaning her neck, really XD
It is too long, amirite? Or maybe I’ve just been staring at it too long?
Drawn straight with ink, and one of my new Uni-ball Eye Micros – they can be quite messy if you’re in a rush, as shown here. *sigh* Gotta learn how to take my time.

Different Styles

by Willie on 8 March 2009

Different Styles

And we’re into March!
This was drawn on 1st March, so this drawing marks 2 months of me drawing daily, almost without cheating or being lazy! Ha, yes! I give myself a cookie.
Anyway, I was still at J-Fest this day, but, of course, no break from the daily draw. I drew this at my table in [...]

Dave at J-Fest

by Willie on 7 March 2009

Dave at J-Fest

This is a chibi portrait of Dave, my boyfriend, at the Japanese Arts Festival. I was taking commissions there, but business was a bit slow initially, and when people see you drawing they can be more eager to get you do do more drawing, I think. It’s a psychological thing, trust me.
Anyway, so I drew [...]

Art Ninja

by Willie on 2 March 2009

Art Ninja

This is more what I was trying for with that art ninja thing. I like this well enough.
At first after I inked it, I thought it looked very mediocre (the inking especially wasn’t very good). Then I added lots of unnecessary lines and some hatching, and now it looks better, I think. I wonder though, [...]

Art Ninja – fail edition

by Willie on 1 March 2009

Art Ninja - fail edition

I was having a lot of difficulty with this sketch. I kind of set myself up to fail, I think, because I’ve never been able to draw decent chibis, and I’ve tried several times. But hey, you don’t win if you don’t keep trying. I didn’t like this a lot, but it was closer than [...]

This is a concept sketch for a painting I may do for a friend at some point. The rocket is white and red, of course.

Somehow, this bug looks like a nerd. He probably has stats in D&D.

Cute thing

by Willie on 26 January 2009

“It’s no use stressing,” said I.

“Not about a job,” she said. “Stress about your wife, or your family, your children, yes, but not about a job.”
